Samina Baig is a well-known Pakistani mountaineer.

She was the first Pakistani woman and the first and youngest Muslim woman

to climb Mount Everest and the seven highest peaks on seven continents.

Samina is the first woman from Pakistan to reach the top of K2, the second highest mountain in the world (8,611 m).

At 7:42 am on Friday, Samina put the national flag on top of K2. While her team,

made up of Eid Mohammad, Bulbul Kareem, Ahmed Baig, Rizwan Dad, Waqar Ali,

and Akbar Sadpara, also reached the top of K2.

K2, also known as the “Savage Mountain,” is on the border between Pakistan and

China is widely thought to be the hardest and most dangerous mountain to climb in the world.

Samina climbed Mount Everest in 2013. This is important to know.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised Baig, a Pakistani mountaineer, for climbing K2,
