Sonny Bill Williams calls his wife Alana’s decision to wear a hijab “one of the proudest moments of my life.”
The 37-year-old converted to Islam from being a womanizer in his younger days and became a rugby star turned boxer.
He and Alana Raffie met in a store in 2013 and were married four weeks later following a traditional Muslim courtship.
He has since admitted that Alana inspires him to “be the best husband I could be.
” Wednesday, the former All Blacks great posted a photo of his daughter Alana,
who is Muslim, wearing the hijab (a head covering).

He announced to his 914,000 Twitter followers, “My wife’s a hijabi!” Thanks be to God,
in the name of Allah, my wife finally decided to wear the hijab.
This is one of the greatest accomplishments of my life,
and it means even more to me because I know she did it for Allah SWT.
To your health, happiness, and joy, may God grant you eternal blessings.

The 37-year-old man admitted the previous year that his “dream” existence
was an illusion created by his family and friends before he converted to Islam.

It was all an act, and I was still putting up fantastic numbers on the football field.
