Sadhvi Pragya, a BJP MP, told Hindus on Sunday to keep weapons at home so they can use them against their Muslim enemies. Sadhvi said, “Keep the weapons at home and keep them sharp so that when we cut our vegetables well, the heads of our enemies will also be cut well.”
The India MP said this while speaking at the Hindu Jagarana Vedike’s South Region’s annual convention in Shivamoga, Karnataka. Tahseen Poonawalla, a political activist, filed a complaint against Sadhvi Pragya, the leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party because she stirs up hatred against Muslims.
Tahsin Poonawalla said Pragya’s speech was an open invitation to fight Muslims with weapons. “There’s no doubt that the speech could cause intolerance, hatred, and violence against a certain group, and that’s a crime,” he said, asking the police to file a case against Pragya.
In 2008, an explosive device attached to a motorbike exploded near a mosque in Malegaon, a town in the Nashik district of Maharashtra, killing six Muslims and injuring more than 100. Sadhvi Pragya was implicated.
