The holy shrine of Al-Abbas Host Restaurant Department started
to carry out the plan it had made for the Ziyarat Arba’een.
Alaa Abdul Hussein, the administrative assistant to the head of the Department,
said, “We started preparing dry and refrigerated foods in
large quantities because we knew there would be a lot of visitors.”
Al-Abbas Shrine: He also said, “Earlier this year, foreign visitors came to Karbala,
so we had to work according to the plan and give out 15,000 meals
starting on the fifth day of the month of Safar.”
Al-Abbas Shrine: Abdul Hussein says that the department feeds visitors three times a day.
He also says that “the estimated number during the Ziyarat Arba’een
is fifteen thousand meals a day, which could go up.”
Al-Abbas Shrine: Abdul Hussein said, “As usual for major Ziyarats,
the department has opened its external outlets,
and their number grows as the Ziyarat gets closer to its peak.”
Al-Abbas Shrine: He also said that the food is given out in three meals: the first in the morning,
the second after the call to prayer for Dhohr and Asr,
and the third after Maghreb and Isha prayers, with separate lines for men and women.
