Every Muslim Should Be Aware of The Fard, Sunnah,
And Wajib of Hajj
1. In Hajj, three acts are fard.
Hajj will not complete properly if any Fard is missed, Fard must be
performed in the prescribed order and at the designated time and location.
In this section, we will only focus on the obligatory Fard and Wajib acts.
A subsequent section covers the complete Hajj process simply and gradually.
Every Muslim should be aware of and adhere to the following Fard, Sunnah,
and Wajib of Hajj to make their Hajj more valid and acceptable to Allah.
Hajj Fard:
In this section, we will only focus on the obligatory Fard and Wajib acts.
Fard of Hajj signifies that you must do these things for your Hajj to be completed.
Assume Ihram10 and make a Hajj intention (Niyyah) by reciting Talbiyah11.
Before going for Mina on the 8th of Dhul-Hijjah, the intention should be made.
Note: It is permitted to leave for Mina the night before, on the evening of the 7th Dhul-Hijjah.
In the interval between Zawal (Noon) of the 9th Dhul-Hijjah and
the dawn of the 10th Dhul-Hijjah, Wuquf at Arafah, even if only for a moment.
Tawaf Al-Ziyarah: It is conducted after ritual shaving from the morning of the
10th Dhul-Hijjah till the sunset of the 12th Dhul-Hijjah. Fard Sunnah Wajib Hajj
Hajj Wajib:
Wajib indicates that if you do not perform the wajib of Hajj,
your Hajj will still be legitimate but you will be required to perform a parental act,
animal sacrifice or feeding the destitute. Fard Sunnah Wajib Hajj
However, if someone abandons the Hajj wajib for no apparent cause,
the transgression will be unforgivable
and the Hajj will be rendered worthless.
1- After Sunset, stay at Muzdalifah until Fajr Salah.
2- Between Safa and Marwah, doing a Saee. It’s possible to do this with Tawaf Ziyarah.
3- At Jamarat, the Devil was stoned, After the Fajr salah of the 10th Dhul Hijjah,
you can only throw pebbles at it.
4- Only those conducting Hajj Qiran or Hajj Tamattu are allowed to sacrifice an animal.
5- Only shave your head once you’ve completed all of the Wibs of Hajj listed above.
6- Takaful Wada, doing this Tawaf is a Wajid, and this wajib only applies to those
who have traveled from another country or who have crossed the Miqaat’s borders.
Hajj’s Sunnah:
The Hajj Sunnahs state that if you perform it, you will be rewarded,
and if you do not, you will not punish.
Ameen. May Allah accept the Hajj of those who perform it this year.
Mahram:
A Mahram is a person with whom marriage is forbidden (i.e. for a woman, her father, son, grandchildren, son-in-law, father-in-law,
maternal uncle, paternal uncle, and foster brother 12 are all mahram). Sons of paternal,
maternal uncles, aunts, and brothers-in-law, artificially”created” mahram 13, and
non-mahrams are not permitted to travel with them anyone who is categorized as
a Mahram but whose modesty or if one is uncomfortable with him it is not
acceptable to travel with such a Mahram.
