They said that the big fire started in the Izat Shah colony in Tarzoo Sopore, where a two-story house and a mosque called “Masjid Mustafa” were destroyed.
They said the fire and emergency department got the call at 1:55 AM,
and the Sopore station sent three water tenders to the area right away.
They said that it was hard for the firefighters to put out the fire.
“During the incident, one LPG cylinder also blew up,” they said.
Minor injuries were sustained by two firefighters, Ali Mohammad Reshi and Wajid Ahmad Dar, who eventually brought the blaze under control and stopped it from spreading.
A reason for the blaze is still being looked into,
they said that an electric short circuit seems to be a likely suspect.
