How Do You Pray Eid Prayer? – A Step-by-Step Guide,
Sunnahs, and What to Do

Four Kinds Of Prayers (Salah) In Islam

You’ll learn how to pray Eid Salah with an imam or at home in this guide.
You will benefit from the step-by-step demonstration when praying.

Before Eid Salah, Do the Following Sunnahs:

• Perform charity activities, such as giving Sadqa to those in need.
Sadqa can also be followed by the distribution of food, such as barley, dates, and rice.

This deed is necessary for both genders and lets them participate in Eid-ul-Fitr
and Eid-ul-Adha celebrations. Furthermore, if you have children,
gift another drink in their name.

• To prepare for Eid Salah, brush your teeth, take a bath, use atar, and wear clean clothes.
To seem presentable, take some extra precautions. You can wear regular
clothes or the ones you save for special occasions.

• Before going out for the Eid prayer, eat a couple of dates. Before we go to the beach, we are supposed to consume something sweet.

• Before leaving for the Eid prayer, eat a few dates. Before going to the Eid Salah,
we are expected to eat sweet food according to tradition.
Eating a few dates is Sunnah, as the Prophet (PBUH) broke His fast during Eid-ul-daylight Fitr’s

• Recite the Takbir in your heart on your way to Eid Salah.
As you make your approach to the Eid prayer ground, this act will keep
your intentions focused on the prayer.

How many Rakats are there in an Eid Salah?
Both Eid Ul Fitr and Eid ul Adha have two Rakats in the Eid Salaah.
Steps to pray Eid Salah – Eid Ul Fitr Salah / Eid Ul Adha Salaah – Eid Takbir

Rakah 1:
Raise your hands and recite “Allahu Akbar.”
It will be said three times by the imam, and you must repeat it after him.
You are supposed to raise your hand every time he recites it. Put your hands down and alongside yourself after you’ve completed it.

2. Place your hands on your chest as the imam begins to recite the Holy Qur’an.
The top of your right hand should be on top of the top of your left.
The imam would next recite Surah Al-Fatiha as well as another Suran.

Pay close attention to the recitation of these Surahs.
As soon as the imam finishes reciting the Holy Qur’an, enter Ruku.

3. When you hear “Sami AllahulimanHamidah,” you must stand up straight. You would be expected to finish it and softly pronounce “RabbanalakalHamd.”

4. Then, when the imam recites “Allahu Akbar,” perform Sujud. It’s worth repeating.
This was your Eid Salah’s first Rakah.

Rakah number two. Pay close attention to the recitation of Surah Al-Fatiha and another Surah. Continue in three more Takbirs with the imam, then continue the Ruku.
Stand up straight when you hear “Sami AllahulimanHamidah.”
By the time the imam recites “Allahu Akbar,” do two Sujuds.
Sit down respectfully and listen to the recitation of “Tashshahud.”

2. After turning your face to the right, recite “Assalamualaikum Warahmatullah.”
Stay and listen to the Khutbah, which will be followed by the imam.
It lasts around 10 to 30 minutes and covers a variety of Islamic topics.
Then, after Eid Salah, rise and welcome those on your side.

3. Greet everyone and begin the celebration of this important occasion.
After Eid Salah, many families attend lavish celebrations and exchange gifts.

What happens if you miss The Eid prayer?

The Eid salah is optional; you can pray it or not. However, because praying
is a sunnah, you should obtain rewards after doing so.

There would be no difference in the rewards of the Ramadan
fasts whether Eid prayers are offered or not.

The most important item is to donate Zakat Fitr or Sadqa before the Eid prayer;
this is a compulsory duty for every Muslim, and every Muslim should
be compensated for each individual who cannot pay.

Before the imam begins to offer the prayer, this should be given.

Eid Prayer’s Importance

Several Islamic thinkers have given their perspectives on the significance of Eid prayer.
Ramadan and Eid are the months of major festivals for us,
which are observed in most Muslim-majority countries.
The night of the moon, also known as Chand Raat, occurs the night before Eid.

On Chand Raat, many people go shopping at malls to round up their celebrations.
On Eid day, following Eid’s prayer exemplifies and strengthens family and
community solidarity. When the fasting month concludes, people gather
to greet one another and exchange “Eid Mubarak”
greetings, followed by a joyful celebration.
