Attained a Ph.D. from Al-Azhar University Sheikh Mustafa Muslim. He was an authority in the interpretation of the Quran. He oversaw the Encyclopedia of Thematic Interpretation of the Quran as its primary editor. On April 17, 2021, he passed away in Turkey from the coronavirus.
He was a devout and learned guy who devoted his life to educating young people in the Qur’an and teaching. Saddam Hussein initiated intellectual and cultural activities after the Halabja tragedy (March 1988), when he deployed chemical bombs on the Kurdish city in Iraq. He also founded the Association of Kurdistan Scholars.
Sheikh Mustafa Moslem was born in 1940 in Syria’s Ain Al-Arab city, close to Aleppo. In Damascus, where he pursued a BA in Shaira sciences, he studied religious sciences. He graduated from Al-Azhar University with his MA in Quranic sciences and interpretation four years later. He then Al-Azhar University in 1974 and earned his Ph.D.
Before beginning his position at the University of Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates, the scholar spent nine years teaching at Saudi Arabian universities.
Muslim participated in a lot of Islamic conferences and academic gatherings and oversaw a lot of MA and Ph.D. theses. A lot of courses on Quranic sciences and interpretation were also organized by him.
Controlling the creation of the Encyclopedia of Thematic Interpretation of the Quran was one of his main responsibilities. It is the first academic dictionary devoted to Quranic subjects.
In addition, he established Al-Zahra University in Gaziantep, Turkey, and the Sharia University in the Kurdistan region of Iraq.
Nearly 90 books and articles on topics like the marvels of the Quran, the techniques employed by Quran interpreters, and the thematic interpretation of the Quran were written by Muslims.
