Saudi Arabia Has Cancelled The 'Host Umrah' Programme

RIYADH — Saudi Arabia has ended the “Host Umrah” programme,
which allowed Saudi citizens and ex-pats to bring three to five foreign
pilgrims to Saudi Arabia and host them while they did Umrah.

Under the plan, a citizen can host any Muslim from outside the Kingdom,
and ex-pats can host their first-degree relatives who are making the Umrah pilgrimage.
Citizens will get visas based on their civil registration, and foreign residents
will get visas based on their residency permit (iqama).

Under the plan, people who were staying in the Kingdom to do Umrah had to take care
of and serve those who were staying there until they left. Up to three times a year, this may occur

It’s important to note that the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah said earlier that they had
cancelled the Umrah host visa and that they would let people know through
official channels if anything changed. Saudi Arabia Has Cancelled
