Names Of Prophet Muhammad’s Children and Wives (PBUH)

You will find the names of Prophet Muhammad’s children in this article;  he had seven children from two of his wives, Khadija (RA) and Maria (RA). Muhammad (PBUH) had thirteen wives. His first marriage was at the age of 25 to Khadijah, who was 40 at the time. With the exception of Aisha, Muhammad married only widows, divorcees, or captives.

The following are the names of his children:

1. Muhammad ibn Qasim

Muhammad and Khadijah bint Khuwaylid had a son named Qasim ibn Muhammad.  He died before his second birthday in 600 or 601 AD (before his father’s prophethood began in 610) and is buried in Jannatul Mualla, Saudi Arabia.

2. Zainab bint Muhammad (Zainab bint Muhammad)

The Sunni community considers Zainab bint Muhammad to be Muhammad’s (PBUH) eldest daughter by his first wife Khadija. According to Shia historians, she and her two sisters (Umm Kulthum bint Muhammad and Ruqayyah bint Muhammad) were orphaned nieces of Khadija (daughters of Halah bint Khuwailid) who were adopted by Muhammad following his marriage to Khadija. Al’Ass Ibn Al-Rabeah, her cousin, was her husband.  Zaynab only had one kid, who died when he was a baby. In the year 630 A.D., Zaynab died.

3. Bint Ruqayyah Muhammad

Ruqayyah was Muhammad and Khadija’s fourth child and second daughter. Utbah ibn Abu Lahab, her cousin, was her husband. Abdullah, Ruqayyah’s son, was born. Abdullah died in Medina when he was six years old. She didn’t have any more children.

4. Fatimah bint Muhammad (Fatimah bint Muhammad)

Muhammad and Khadija had a daughter named Fatimah. She was  Muhammad’s only child, according to the Shia sect (PBUH) was her father’s closest child,  and she stood by him through his trials. She was Ali’s wife and the mother of two sons, Hasan and Husayn.

5. Umm Kulthum bint Muhammad 

She was Muhammad (PBUH) and Khadija’s third daughter and fifth child (RA). Utayba ibn Abi Lahab was her husband. Because of Abu Lahab, he divorced her. Uthman then married Umm Kulthum after her sister Ruqayya died. She didn’t have a child.

6. Abd-Allah ibn Muhammad 

Muhammad told him his father’s name. He was a year or two younger than Qasim. Tahir ibn Muhammad and Tayib ibn Muhammad were his other names.

He died while he was a child.

7. Ibrahim ibn Muhammad

Muhammad (PBUH) and Maria al-Qibtiyya had only one kid, Ibrahim ibn Muhammad. Ibrahim became gravely ill shortly after the Battle of Tabuk, and he was probably sixteen or eighteen months old at the time. Muhammad was saddened by his death, yet he accepted Allah’s will. Khadeejah bint Khuwaylid is the name of one of Prophet Muhammad PBUH’s wives (may Allaah be pleased with her).
