Saudi Arabia’s King Salman sent Eid greetings to
Muslims around the world on Saturday.

While speaking on Saudi state television,
King Salman noted that the Kingdom was able to
increase the number of pilgrims this year from within
and outside Saudi Arabia to a total of one million as a result
of effective actions taken against the COVID-19 pandemic.

He assured them that safety precautions
were still being considered for pilgrims.

To Allah’s glory, the king prayed for the Hajj of all the pilgrims
and thanked everyone who helped make the annual pilgrimage possible.

After spending an emotional day praying and pleading
with Allah on the plains of Arafat, the pilgrims returned to Mina on Saturday.
This week’s Hajj rites will include a “stoning of the devil”
at the Jamrat complex, as well as other rituals.

This year’s Hajj was the first time since the pandemic
that the number of pilgrims exceeded one million.
Only 1,000 pilgrims were allowed to perform Hajj in 2020 when
COVID-19 brought the entire world to a halt.
The number of pilgrims who were fully immunized was increased to 60,000 in 2021.
